(Not So) Wordless Wednesday - BlogPaws Honor Flag Project

These are prayer or honor flags Mom made for 3 of our OTRB (over the Rainbow Bridge) KruseKats. I am no artist since I have no oposable thumbs, but our love for these guys went into ever bit of the fabric.

BlogPaws Honor Flag Project

BlogPaws is a large community of varying interests with one thing in common, our commitment to animals. To illustrate this passion, BlogPaws has initiated a Honor Flag Project to covers all aspects of our love for animals. We can pay tribute to our beloved Rainbow Bridge pets, honor the work of our favorite rescue, recognize influential people who are active in rescue work, and wish all good wishes and continued prosperity toward their goals with animals.

Prayer flags have a long Tibetan tradition, and are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. These flags are hung to spread the wishes and hopes to everyone by the wind passing over the flags. Within this context, “prayer” stands for the desire to share good will.

Everyone is encouraged to make flags. For those coming to BlogPaws, there will be materials available to make your flag. We will have available colorful cloth flags, white material for writing your thoughts, rubber stamps and pads, buttons, ribbons, anything to make your flag special. The flags will be displayed for all to be uplifted.

You are welcome to make your flag prior to arrival, or to send along with a friend. Flags can be from cloth (preferred) or paper. You can stamp, print with a printer, write, embellish with flowers, buttons, embroidery, beads, etc. The flags hang vertically, and are sized 5-6” wide by 10-12” tall. The white cloth is not quite as wide as the flag and about 6" tall. You can turn over the top for hanging, or there will be glue available.

We plan to keep these year to year, adding new thoughts to the established ones, enhancing the goodwill with each viewing.
