A Smashing Success

The atmosphere sublime, the drinks and noms outdtanding, the music energetic. Rudy's celebration was a success. Many thanks go to everyone who attended, and contributed, Fergus for arranging DJs, George for arranging barktenders, Java did her best on the menu, MizzBassie helped with quizes, and Frugal and staff for all they did. I can't thank you enough.

I would like to award the wallhanging Mom is making. The lucky drawing winner is: *drum roll*

Pandora otherwise known as @Pandafur

Thanks again to everyone who came to see Rudy again. I think he may be back for other pawties now.

Love, Maggie

A #rudypawty Drawing!

Rudy and I want to give away a prize to our anipals. It is a wall hanging made by Mom and Dad (yes, Dad sews!). For those of you who recognize the name of designer Laurel Burch, the wall hanging uses one of her panels. The quilt isn't done yet, but as soon as Mom gets it quilted, it will be shipped.

Here's how it works. Watch Rudy's video. Leave us a comment here on our blog and tell us what you liked (or didn't). That's it! We will randomly choose Feb 14, and will post the winner on our blog and Twitter.

#rudypawty

We're having a pawty!!!! It's a Maine Coon pawty in honor of our dear Rudy. Our tailor, @Herbie_the_Cat, is working on special outfits for us. The theme is "Shakespeare in Love", and I, Maggie, can't wait to see what outfit I get to wear.

Rudy will be making a special appearance for the occasion. He's so excited and has been practicing all of the new dance steps and can't wait to get dance partners lined up. I hope I will get to dance, but being the host, one never knows.

We're raising money for maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association. These are a great group of breeders who are interested in preserving the breed. They also have a small rescue effort. All their rescues have to be fostered since there is no main facility.

Keep your eye on this space. There will be a special drawing for one of Mom's creations!

Difficult Things

I have found there are things that are very difficult to do after a death in your pet family.

1. Don't go to a petstore where you liked to buy treats. I cannot describe the emotions that go through you.
2. Don't be the first one home after work. Those loving pets won't be there to greet you.
3. Most of all, don't do these 2 htings on the same day. You will be a mess.

The hard things to do include:
1. Putting away the food dish.
2. Figuring out what to do with the collar.
3. Putting away the favorite toys.

The thing that isn't hard to do - giving your surviving pet(s) all the love you have. They are grieving, too.

The thing you must do if you have surviving pets - take lots and lots and lots of pictures.
